Who We Are

Praying Hands

What is Spiritual Direction?

Have you ever had a moment that felt transcendent – where you knew, not just in your head but with your whole being, that God was with you and that He loves you, just as you are? Maybe you’ve experienced this only once, maybe multiple times – but have you ever wished you could just live in that reality of God’s love all the time? That God’s love was simply the water you swim in, the air that you breathe? Spiritual Direction is one way that you can grow in experiencing God’s presence and love more often.

Spiritual Direction involves coming alongside another person and noticing with them what the Lord is doing and how he is speaking to them. The Spiritual Director’s job is to listen well and help another person become more aware of God’s presence in their everyday life.

Carrie Everson

Spiritual Direction has been life changing for me and it is my joy to offer this opportunity for growth to others. I received my training in Spiritual Direction through Sustainable Faith in 2021. Before that, I also received an M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2007. I have worked in ministry all of my adult life, including college ministry, inner city ministry, and in a church setting working with young adults. I was ordained as a pastor in 2012. I am married with two daughters. I love hiking with my family and just being in nature, experiencing God’s beauty through creation. I also love drinking coffee, enjoying a good meal with friends or family, reading, and traveling. I have no greater joy than to sit across from another person and witness them encountering God in new ways. I would love to be a part of your journey with God
